Regarded as one of Ohio’s most chilling locations, an intersection has left people in a state of fear.

Not only have individuals reported sightings of a faceless humanoid figure at night, but during daylight hours, vultures have been observed circling the area. The reason behind this peculiar phenomenon remains a mystery, as it appears to be haunted by an inexplicable presence.
The majority of these eerie occurrences seem to transpire during the late hours, typically around 1:30 am. One woman had a startling encounter, believing she had struck and killed someone, only to glimpse a faceless entity approaching her vehicle—a figure devoid of any facial features.
The gender of this enigmatic hitchhiker remains unknown, although certain characteristics remain consistent. It appears to be of average height, yet completely lacks a face. Situated between Amelia and Bethel, this location falls within the village of Bantam, Clermont County, at the junction of Route 222 and Route 125, commonly referred to as “Dead Man’s Curve.”
This enigmatic faceless hitchhiker has struck terror into the hearts of those on the road between 1:20 and 1:40 am, often appearing as if waiting for a ride, frequently in the middle of the roadway.
Since the intersection underwent development, numerous accidents have occurred here, some with fatal consequences. Unwitting drivers have reportedly collided with the hitchhiker, only to witness it leaping onto their vehicles in pursuit. Imagining a nighttime chase by this faceless entity is a chilling thought. Other reports involve the hitchhiker walking along the roadside, while some claim their vehicles were struck by unseen forces hurling rocks.
Whatever this entity may be, it exhibits ghostly tendencies, creating an atmosphere of profound eeriness. Originally, this area featured a sharp curve that led to tragic accidents, dating back to the construction of the Ohio Turnpike in 1831.
The road remained a two-lane highway until 1968 when it was straightened and widened to four lanes, culminating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the end of “Dead Man’s Curve.” However, this celebration may have been premature, as a severe accident occurred at the intersection just a month later.
Five teenagers driving an Impala were struck by a green Roadrunner car traveling at an estimated 100 mph, with only one survivor. Following this incident, reports of the faceless hitchhiker began to surface. Speculation arose that this entity might be the ghost of one of the teenagers who lost their lives.
Interestingly, sightings of a green Roadrunner vehicle chasing down other drivers on the road have also been mentioned. Allegedly, more than 70 lives have been claimed by accidents at this very intersection, prompting the belief that it may be cursed or haunted.
